Events during Cork Lifelong Learning Festival 2025:
Thursday 3rd April: Across The Board (a new adult community music group, facilitated by me) will have an open rehearsal. All are welcome to attend, all ages, bring an instrument, no skill needed! 5.30 to 7pm at Colaiste Eamann Ris, St Patrick's Road Cork
Same day, 3rd April at 8pm: Across The Board will play for Cork International Folk Dancers at the Quaker Hall on Summerhill South. Bring your feet. Fun dances for all.
(Friday I take the day off to go down to West Cork and run a day of Heritage in Schools workshops in Kilcoe NS!)
Saturday 5th April: Cork City Music College Open Day including Youth Music World - for ages 11 to 17 - come and join a youth band for an hour, bring an instrument, or just yourself. 12.30pm until 3pm for Open Day, 1 - 2pm for youth band. Colaiste Eamann Ris, St Patrick's Road Cork
Same day, 5th April: Crosshaven Music Collective concert at 3.30pm in Holy Trinity Church, Crosshaven. A wonderful community experience. All welcome. Donations to Crosshaven Youth Club.
Monday 7th April: Youth Music World open rehearsal 4.30pm until 6pm, Colaiste Eamann Ris, St Patrick's Road Cork - open to parents too for one day only! Come and invoke your inner teenager!
Tuesday 8th April: Bird Songs and Folk Tunes concert 1.30 pm until 2.30 at Crosshaven Community Hall. All welcome. Poster attached. Bird Songs and Folk Tunes is an intergenerational, intercultural group from Templebreedy National School and Active Retired groups in Crosshaven. Funded by Cork County Council's Creative Communities grant, this project has seen facilitator Ruti Lachs and bird expert Dara Fitzpatrick encouraging the children and adults to share stories and play music, learn about local birds, and create new music/songs, with a performance taking place in Crosshaven on Tuesday 8th April from 1.30pm to about 2.30pm.
